My husband and I have just returned from a couple of nights at Corton Coastal Village.
The last time we were there, was last March , when we had to leave early owing to the fact that the strong winds had blown the roof off of the main entertainment complex.
All I can say is “wow” what a difference......with lots of noticeable changes, too numerous to mention, but what looks like lots more space in the lounge/ bar, and a bigger coffee shop.
We were allocated room beach garden 40, which we had booked as a bog standard room. When we entered the lovely warm ,cosy room on a freezing cold afternoon, we were well impressed. A lovely comfy bed, a huge shower, a hairdryer that works without having to keep your finger on it, plenty of storage, a television that works, a free safe ,tea and coffee making facilities, wardrobe with a dozen coat hangers, two USB charging points to charge your iPhone, and even a sensor light that came on when you entered the bathroom -brilliant idea .........What more could we want for two nights......in fact a shame we couldn’t stay longer.
On reading the recent trip advisor reviews we really weren’t expecting too much from the food, but oh my goodness what an earth do some people expect. It was delicious, and I didn’t even have to cook it.....sounds good to me. I am diabetic and there was a choice of half a dozen deserts ,which I was asked to order in advance ,which was fine -
thank you Corton.
To be honest we were only there for one full day and didn’t have time to take advantage of the daytime entertainment, although we did go into Great Yarmouth to do some shopping and managed to get a swim in at Gunton Hall- which was lovely.
The entertainment team were a great bunch and most of them( except one )did a great job of interacting with the guests and were really friendly and fun.Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Beth who while doing her pre dinner solo stint on Wednesday early evening made it blatantly obvious that she was not amused when somebody jokingly asked her if she was “wearing her pyjamas” Lighten up Beth........it was a joke.
As we left at breakfast this morning, we heard some people saying that they were coming back in March.......that’s how much the loyal guests love this place . We too hope that we be able to return very soon.........Thank you Corton- a great time had by us both
